“Create rooms that your buyers can imagine living in; declutter and help them see the potential of your home”
The Importance of decluttering when you’re selling your home
Moving home is the perfect time for you to declutter and start your new life a fresh. However, before you can start life in your new home, you’ll need to sell your current one.
Home staging can not only promote the sale of your home, it can also facilitate the start of your new life.
When a prospective buyer views your home, there a few key things that will help influence them towards a positive experience of their prospective house, encouraging them to buy. Home staging isn’t just about the house smelling of fresh coffee or flowers, this is about practical steps that can be taken to show off your home at its very best.
Room Zoning:
Your buyer needs to see and understand the function of each room. Often rooms are re-appropriated to the needs of the family, so a dining room becomes a home study and a play area. The living room is a pet bedroom, a cinema and a hang-out space. Even bedrooms can be turned into multi-functioning spaces, storing what no longer is useful or fits in the appropriate room. This means buyers end up viewing your lifestyle and not the house. Making sure each room is immediately recognisable as a single function room, provides the space viewers need to project their own possessions and lifestyle into the space. It immediately becomes more relatable.
Decluttering and cleaning:
As you’re getting ready to sell, it is important to declutter. This enables your buyers to imagine themselves and their belongings in the space. A highly cluttered room tells the buyer it’s small with no storage. This is off-putting to buyers.
Your home needs to be clean and clutter free, with just enough homeliness to ensure it looks warm and inviting.
First impressions count:
Making your front garden, driveway and door look appealing immediately creates a positive impression. Simple steps such as clearing the space, putting a few plants pots near the door and a quick weeding can utterly transform first impressions.
How I can help sell your home
Room Zoning:
The first step is working through your possessions in each room. We’ll sort through what you want to take into your new life, following the steps for home decluttering. Once you are clear on what you are keeping, we will then take out the belongings you will need in the next few months as you sell your home and the rest can be packed away for your move.
I will then rearrange each room, making sure it is immediately obvious to buyers what the function of each space is. Using a few of your ornaments and photos, I’ll bring each room alive so that viewers are immediately wowed by the space.
Decluttering and Cleaning:
The decluttering and cleaning process will be carried out throughout each room as the rezoning takes place. I can conduct a thorough deep clean of your home, including oven and fridges. This is especially important for built in appliances and I would highly recommend this service. This deep clean will make your home gleam, smell fresh and appealing, instantly helping buyers feel they are purchasing a clean, clear and bright home to be.
First impressions:
I can do some basic gardening and clearing of weeds and objects from the front of your home. Anything above a cosmetic clean would involve bringing in other professionals whom I can book and organise for you.
I can also source plants/ plant pots to restyle and show of the front of your home to instantly bump up kerb appeal, driving potential buyers to your door.
